Spring 2021

In the Spring of 2021, Jacob published as first author on one peer-reviewed article and co-authored two articles in the American Journal of Human Biology Special Issue on Biocultural approaches to the plasticity of the human skeleton.

Fall 2020

In the Fall of 2020, Jacob was awarded the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship for his dissertation work.

Spring 2020

In the Spring of 2020, Jacob was award the TriCem Graduate Student Award in Social and Biological Determinants of Health for his dissertation work.

Summer 2017

Jacob spent his summer conducting preliminary, exploratory research for his dissertation. He first went to Quito, Ecuador where he took Spanish courses and met with several researchers. He then traveled to Quevedo where he spent the remainder of the time speaking with local banana plantation owners, supervisors, and workers.
